Focus on Film relies fully on support from sponsors to run its programs. From outreach projects to office overhead to equipment- funding is always greatly necessary. We are a registered charity - donations from the corporate or private sector are fully tax exempt. Please help us continue to make it possible for all youth to express their cretive voice in a professional and nurtuing environment.
FOCUS ON FILM is a non-profit organization that provides quality educative experience in visual media for youth in Hong Kong.
FOCUS ON FILM uses production in various techniques of film making to inspire young people to become better creative problem solvers, leaders and out of the box thinkers.
FOCUS ON FILM has as its ultimate goal to stimulate the development of a thriving youth driven community arts scene with a design towards getting young people involved in media art production and providing them with outlets for their work to be shown. Focus on Film strives to empower youth creatively, creating as a result, a heightened sense of self esteem in all participants. Learning how to think outside the box and access creative potential is a direct result of learning how to lead a team on a film shoot. Focus on Film aims to provide this experience for all youth, regardless of background.
About the Founder
Elissa Rosati is a graduate with honors from the most prestigious film making institution of today: New York University’s TISCH School of the Arts with a degree in film and television directing. After years of international professional performance experience she comes to Hong Kong where she has made a name for herself producing and directing. Elissa has taught in conservatories world wide and continues to teach Hong Kong youth at such prestigious institutions as the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and the Youth Arts Foundation
Where We Are Going
Focus on Film has as its ultimate goal to stimulate the development of a thriving youth driven community arts scene . Youth Film Festivals, Screening Facility, Sound and Television studio, Performance art Venue and a Film production House for youth are all just some of the target projects. All with a design towards getting young people involved in media art production and providing them with outlets for their work to be seen.
Where We Are Coming From
Focus on Film offers a first time experience in filmmaking workshops for young people. Through the craft of filmmaking, students learn how to communicate ideas and manipulate visual media.
Students can choose between 1, 3 and 5 day filmmaking workshops. A maximum amount of creative hands-on facilitated learning allows students to see their own works come to life.
Community Outreach
In a time where media tools are omnipresent, there are still those youth who are growing up without exposure to them. Focus on Film goes into local communities and provids opportunities for young people to work creatively with this media. Focus on Film ultimately provides international exposure for their finished products by presenting work in festivals and exhibition spaces globally.
Currently, Focus on Film offers workshops in narrative and documentary filmmaking. As part of our community outreach, workshops for the youth of the local Schools are provided at no charge to the students.
Our goal at Focus on Film is to stimulate creative encounters in the local community and provide structure for these communities to grow artistically.

FOCUS ON FILM透過各種電影製作的技巧，以發掘青少年成為既有創意思維、亦懂得解決問題的領導者。
FOCUS ON FILM 目標為激勵青少年於藝術社區的發展，並協助他們參予各項多媒體製作，以及帶來各個公開發表作品的機會。Focus on Film致力啟發活動參加者的創意，建立以創作為本的精神，並增強他們的自信。Focus on Film 希望為來自不同背景的年青人提供接觸電影製作的機會，讓他們在活動過程中作領導，以發掘他們的創意思維及創作潛能。
關於始創人
Elissa Rosati 畢業於在電影製作中享負盛名的紐約大學之TISCH School of the Arts ，榮獲電影及電視製作學位。擁有多年國際表演經驗的Elissa，來到香港以後，以劇場導演及製作打出名堂。Elissa曾任教於世界各地優秀的學院，現 為香港演藝學院及香港青年藝術協會的導師。
發展路向
Focus on Film的目標是促進以青少年為中心的藝術舞台的發展。我們為青少年所舉辦的電影節、提供的放映設備、錄音室、電視製作室、表演藝術場地和電影製作公司 等，只是部份的發展計劃。而所有計劃皆以鼓勵青少年參予媒體藝術創作為目標，並為他們提供發表作品的渠道。
我們是為了
Focus on Film的工作坊為青少年提供首次電影製作的經驗。在電影製作的過程中，學生們將以他們的創作意念作溝通橋樑，並利用視覺媒體表達出來。 多項的創作活動，讓學生能體驗他們的作品由構思到完成的過程。學生可選擇為期1天、3天或5天的電影製作工作坊。
社區外展項目
媒 體創作工具看似俯拾皆是，但仍有部份青少年沒有接觸它們的機會。Focus on Film希望進入本土社群，為青少年帶來利用媒體發揮創意的機會。Focus on Film更會透過影展及展覽等活動，在國際上展示青少年們的作品。 目前，Focus on Film提供故事片及紀錄片創作的工作坊。我們的社區外展項目亦包括為本地學生免費舉辦工作坊。 Focus on Film的目標是為激發本土創意，並為社區藝術創作建立發展的框架。 瀏覽更多關於我們的社區項目。
